Latest Updates from Our Project:

ADD-ON UPDATES! - Shirts, additional copies, 'Get Rekt' Edition and an Art /Lore Book!
over 7 years ago – Sat, Oct 22, 2016 at 04:08:44 PM

Hey folks. Got another brief update for you today on Add-ons.

As most of you know, we have been focusing on getting what we can together for the main book, but more than a few of you have asked about add-ons, and so with 10 days to go in the campaign, here are a couple tasty treats to whet your appetite!

COLLECTORS EDITION SHIRT - $20

This shirt will feature a unique design (decided by the backers with a vote) and will be only available as part of this campaign. We have a few shirts available on our Merch Store already if you want some other options, but this one will be a doozy.

COLLECTORS EDITION MAAUL STATUE - $TBD (On Hold)

As of this time, the Collector’s Edition Maaul statue is still being designed and planned for fabrication. In the spirit of being transparent and accountable, I would not feel safe in offering this as a reward until such a time as we can guarantee fabrication and delivery. The ongoing plan is to have it available as a post-funding extra, and it will remain available until the release of Project Biomodus. Until then, stay tuned for more updates!

ADDITIONAL STANDARD EDITION BOOK - $40 (Soft Cover), $50 (Hard Cover)

Get an additional copy of the Standard Edition book for your collection. Although this price is designed to include the shipping portion of the cost, people who live in outlaying countries such as Australia, Japan and China should add an additional $5 to cover extended shipping.

ADDITIONAL COLLECTORS EDITION BOOK - $55 (Soft Cover), $65 (Hard Cover)

Get an additional copy of the Collector’s Edition Book, either in soft-cover or hard-cover form. Again, this price is designed to include the shipping portion of the cost, people who live in outlaying countries such as Australia, Japan and China should add an additional $5 to cover extended shipping.

TRAVELING ‘GET REKT’ EDITION BOOK – $28

This black and white, soft-cover edition of the book is designed with you, your traveling needs and your notes in mind. Want a version of the book you can scribble over? Perhaps one that is not going to matter too much if it gets a few dings or dog-eared pages over the years? This is the add-on for you. Again, if you are shipping to an outlaying area such as Japan, Australia or China, please be sure to add $5 to cover additional shipping.

PROJECT BIOMODUS ART AND LORE BOOK - $45

This was a suggestion by a couple of our backers, and it’s one I would like to see happen. This soft-cover, limited edition art book will contain a collection of Project Biomodus art, including pencil, ink, concept, color and full renderings along with a small collection of stories and lore, as well as some description and explanations to the inspirations behind Project Biomodus. People who purchase this book will also receive a PDF version. Again, if you are in China, Japan, Australia or another outlaying country, please add $5 for additional shipping.

That it for now folks! I hope some of these add-ons will tempt you into adding a bit more to your pledge, but if not, then I am still very honored to be backed by such a great collection of folks! Let me know if you have any questions in regards to shipping, add-ons or anything else regarding these additional products.

10 days to go folks! Remember to share, reach out, tweet, mail your backwater aunt and uncle, or anything else that might get the good word out there! ZOT DEMANDS AN ELECTRONIC TWITTERING OF THE DEETS.

More updates sooooon!

$8K Rekt and Still Climbing! - Community Update!
over 7 years ago – Fri, Oct 21, 2016 at 12:42:35 AM

Hello folks!

First off, we hit $8K last night, bringing us to under a third left of funding to go and still with just under two weeks to go! You guys are absolutely amazing, and I am glad we have such a solid core of backers. 136 of you to be exact, and that is absolutely mind-blowing!

I wanted to give you all an update on our two latest community-involved extravaganzas, namely the wonderful Big Bad Con this past weekend, and then the amazing Q&A over on RPGnet last night. Both events were great for getting information out about Project Biomodus and we have seen some backers come from the results.

Big Bad Con was pretty spectacular. We arrived on Friday, played a game of ‘Kami’, an in-development, narrative-driven game of Martial Arts action in an alternate-history Japanese setting. Needless to say it was involving, very up my alley in terms of action and theme, and run by a very descriptive designer.

When Kami comes to Kickstarter, you can be assured that we will be backing it!

Saturday was our day. We had a room sponsored by us, and the two games we ran were good experiences all around. In the morning game, we had a couple missing players, so I gave the remaining players the option to make their own characters, which came out with some amusing results!

Our second game was a full party of our Big Bad Con, Red Riding Hood-themed, Pregen Characters, which also ended up with some hilarious encounters with scouts, some dangerous fighting with a few sneaky Gaast and ultimately the triumph of the party. It was a great pair of games and the feedback was invaluable.

I want to give a huge shout out to Charles and Rebecca, who turned up to the games to support us in this endeavor, as well as bringing a few gifts for our players! Charles and Rebecca have been on board with Project Biomodus since the first convention showing at KublaCon back in May, and have been pillars of our little community ever since.

Last night, we also had a Q&A session, hosted by the wonderful Dan Davenport (otherwise known as the Hardboiled GMshoe) where we got the opportunity to field a bunch of questions from interested players and parties. These ranged from setting to rules, to systems to lore and while I can’t detail them all here, you can see a log of the entire chat session by going to this link: Project Biomodus RPGnet Q&A

From this event, we made some new friends, including the wonderful Donovan from Rusted Portal Games, who we are also backing. Donovan shares our outlook that people in the industry should help other RPG developers succeed, and that ethos should really help us build a growing network of people to help both of our endeavors!

I also promised him an Illustration at some time, now on the record for all to see!

On top of that, we hit $8K last night, so this week has been a great one! I am both honored and humbled at the amount of support you folks have been throwing at us, and to see the involvement of the community in its design and progression is absolutely heart-warming.

This community – truthfully – means more to me than meeting a financial goal. Money is cold, sadly necessary and hard to ask for. But community support, willing and constructive feedback, fan art and seeing stories written in a world of your own design? Now that is warm-and-fuzzy material all over!

Thank you all for your involvement! You guys are rock solid!

This guide to the House of Trade details the inner workings of the world-spanning Cult of commerce, along with new equipment, new weapons, upgrades, and rules on how to play a House of Trade character!

Thank you to everyone for backing Project Biomodus this far, and I hope to see many more of you join our little community over on our Discord Channel! Come in! Talk to the creators directly and get to know your fellow players!

REMINDER: I will be doing a Q&A session over on RPGnet, using their IRC chat channel. If you want to come in and see what’s going on, then make sure to click here to use their Java Applet, and join us over on RPGnet at 7PM (Pacific Time) on Wednesday October 19th!

Back and more PUMPED than ever!
over 7 years ago – Mon, Oct 17, 2016 at 03:48:51 PM

So Big Bad Con was amazing!

We ran a couple of games, played a couple more games, and managed to get the word out about Project Biomodus! During the course of the weekend, I had the singular honor of meeting the Organizers of the Con, had some absolutely stunning feedback from my players, and managed to give out a bunch of merch, prints and art to the attendees.

The games themselves were amazing, the players were absolutely top-notch and I think everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, which is worth more to me than any kind of monetary reimbursement. We had a lot of fun, it was great to meet new people and to network with them, and I finally managed to play a game of Mecha vs. Kaijuu run by the creator – Jonathan Wright!

All in all, it was a great weekend with awesome people and I was honored to be a part of it.

Also a reminder: If you want a copy of the playtest in PDF format, then be sure to share, increase your pledge, back or anything that helps spread the word and love for Project Biomodus! If you send me a link to the share via Kickstarter to us, you will get your playtest in the next couple days, but you only have until Midnight tonight to send in the link or increase your pledge!

THANK YOU ALL FOR BEING AWESOME!

More details coming up in an update after I recover!

 Thanks all!
